About the Project

Founded in 1962, The Council for Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) is a non-profit trade organization that supports North-American designers of fashion and fashion accessories. DFA’s strategy for designing their creative professional offices within an iconic Louis Sullivan-designed building was to provide staff with an open, light-filled work environment that fosters collaboration. DFA’s concept of ‘work zones’, a collection of offices, communal spaces, conference rooms, a cafe, and event space, are grouped by professional function within the CFDA. The work zones are wrapped in red fabric panels, consistent with the clients’ color palette, and provide soundproofing in each area.

Budget: $1.4 million, $175/sq.ft.
