About the Project

Inspired by the textures and landscapes of the Saudi desert—from the sand dunes of Rub’ al Khali to the rock formations of Al Nasla—this project merges natural beauty with cultural symbolism. The design draws from Islamic textile motifs, particularly the Chintamani, representing compassion, wisdom, and power. The five towers of the building express unity, rhythm, and movement—embodying the spirit of music and dance, much like the traditional Bedouin Ardah performance that passes stories and poetry through song.

Constructed from traditional adobe and rammed earth, the building not only echoes the material heritage of structures like Riyadh’s Masmak Fortress but also integrates passive cooling strategies to combat the desert heat. Its slotted openings and whitewashed upper walls balance privacy, ventilation, and protection, creating a contemporary architectural expression deeply rooted in Saudi culture and environment.
